Chiara Plizzari

I am an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing Sciences at Bocconi University. Previously, I was a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Smart Eyewear Lab, a joint research center between EssilorLuxottica and Politecnico di Milano. Before that, I worked as a Student Researcher at Google in Zurich. I got my PhD in Computer Vision at Politecnico di Torino, during which I also spent time as a visiting researcher at the University of Bristol and the University of California, Berkeley.

Research interests

I am interested in computer vision, with a focus on the challenge of creating machines that can “see” the world as humans do. My research centers on video understanding and explores how visual perception can be enriched by other modalities—such as language, audio, and 3D information—to achieve deeper and more human-like understanding.
