Call for Nominations: Trevisan Prize – AI for Good
To celebrate Luca Trevisan and honour his legacy, EDGE APS LGBTI+ Leaders for Change, the Computer Science Department of Bocconi University, and Luca’s husband Junce Zhang invite student submissions for the Trevisan Prize, recognising research that reflects Luca’s passion for rigorous computer science and social inclusion.
A prize of €2,000 will be awarded to up to two students who demonstrate exceptional contributions to AI-related research.
Eligible topics include, but are not limited to:
- Health & Medicine (AI‑assisted diagnosis, drug discovery, mental‑health support).
- Climate & Environment (climate‑risk modelling, energy optimisation, conservation).
- Fairness & Inclusion (bias detection/mitigation, equitable decision systems, accessibility).
- Humanitarian Aid & Disaster Response (early‑warning systems, resource allocation, crisis mapping).
- Education & Skills (personalized learning, language access, assistive technologies).
- Poverty & Development (micro‑finance, supply‑chain transparency, agricultural intelligence).
- Privacy & Data Protection (differential privacy, privacy‑preserving machine learning, secure computation).
Application period: September 1 – October 15, 2025
